Cancel Cricket Wireless

Cricket is prepaid and its terms let you cancel any time by contacting them: chat, 1-800-CRICKET (274-2538) or 611 from a Cricket phone. There is no refund for the unused part of the month. Keeping your number? Do not disconnect first: get a Number Transfer PIN, valid five days, for the new provider.

Steps

  1. Contact Cricket to cancel: chat at cricketwireless.com/contactus, call 1-800-CRICKET (274-2538), or dial 611 from your Cricket phone
  2. Turn off Auto Pay so the card is not charged again: sign in, open Auto Pay and set Auto Pay Status to OFF, or use the myCricket app
  3. Expect no refund or credit for the unused part of the service period
  4. An account left unpaid is suspended, then canceled on the 60th day after the due date and cannot be reactivated
  5. Keeping your number? Do not disconnect Cricket before the new provider asks for the number, or it has to be reactivated first
  6. Get a Number Transfer PIN: dial *PORT from the Cricket phone, or request it online after signing in, or in the myCricket app tap the gear icon, pick the line under Line Settings and choose Get my Number Transfer PIN, or call 1-800-CRICKET (274-2538) with your account PIN
  7. Give the new provider the Number Transfer PIN and your account number, not your account PIN. The PIN is valid for five days and one PIN covers every number on the account
  8. Trading the phone in to the new provider? Request the PIN before you sign up with them
