Log in first, then open this link. The subscription page shows Cancel Your Subscription, then a confirm step. You keep streaming until the billing period ends. There is no refund.

Signed up through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku or Microsoft?
Then HBO Max cannot cancel it for you. Use the store you paid through instead.
